Overview
Disc Shelf (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS application.
When you choose to connect your Discogs account, we access:
- Your Discogs username
- Your vinyl collection data (albums, artists, release years)
- Your wantlist items
- Collection statistics (number of items, folders)
Local Storage
All data is stored locally on your device using Core Data. We do not operate any servers or cloud storage for your data.
We use your information solely to:
- Display your vinyl collection within the app
- Show your wantlist items
- Calculate and display collection statistics
- Enable search and filtering of your records
Data Sharing
We do not:
- Share your data with third parties
- Sell your information
- Send your data to external servers
- Display advertisements
The only external communication is directly between your device and Discogs API when you sync your collection.
Data Storage and Security
- All data is stored locally on your iOS device
- Data is protected by iOS built-in security features
- No data is transmitted to our servers (we don’t have any)
- You can delete all app data by uninstalling the app
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Disconnect your Discogs account at any time
- Delete all local data by removing the app
- Refresh your data from Discogs whenever you choose
Third-Party Services
Discogs
We integrate with Discogs API to import your collection. When you authenticate with Discogs:
- You are redirected to Discogs.com for secure authentication
- We never see or store your Discogs password
- We only receive an access token to fetch your collection data
- Discogs’ own privacy policy applies to their services: https://www.discogs.com/privacy
Children’s Privacy
Disc Shelf is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the “Last Updated” date above.

California Privacy Rights
California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Since we don’t collect or sell personal information, these rights are inherently protected.
European Union Users
For EU users under GDPR:
- Legal Basis: Legitimate interest in providing app functionality
- Data Controller: You maintain full control of your data
- Data Portability: Your data remains with Discogs and on your device
- Right to Erasure: Delete the app to remove all local data
